This window contains information about the 'Shoreline Zoning' data set. This map shows areas of different landuse zonings for land parcels near the shoreline. Please note that the data are plotted on top of a bathymetry base map (details available in metadata for the base map). Colors on the legend may not match the map exactly because the zoning layer is partly transparent in order to show more detail.
Data sourced from Whatcom County GIS. The County's parcel data layer was used along with the land use taxation codes that are contained in this database. Then, natural categories of land use codes were selected out of the clipped parcel layer and shapefiles were created for each category.
